As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this large heavy Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) Komai style box , the hinged box is unusually decorated with the seven gods of good fortune to the lid and their implements to the four sides, the inside reveals a gilded interior with a decorated inner lid , all stood on four bracket feet with a signature underside from one of the Komai style factories of the period , the box is extremly heavy for its size and is decorated on iron.

The condition is superb with minor wear and staining to the inside but the all important outside decoration is immaculate.
