As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this rather comical Meiji period (1868-1912) c 1890, Ivory Netsuke depicting Tadamori & the Oil thief, Tadamori stands with the oil thief to the side, he holds a Parasol to his side , with his other hand upon the oil thief’s head now hidden beneath the robe disguising him, a very nicely aged and patinated Netsuke which would make a great addition to your Japanese works of art or Netsuke collection.
