As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely quality Meiji Period 1868-1912 , circa 1900 Bronze Okimono depicting the charming subject of a young Boy seated at rest upon his tethered Oxen , the unknown artist has skilfully captured movement and fine definition in the beast , the young lad appears to be taking a well earned rest sitting cross legged upon a woven mat covering the Oxen’s back , with his basket now empty the boy sits studying a book , although unsigned this Meiji period bronze displays the qualities and characteristics of a casting by the Seiya foundry and would make a charming addition to your Japanese themed room or works of art collection .
